Arlington ISD selects Jamail & Smith Construction to serve as their Job Order Contractor
Jamail & Smith Construction was awarded the Job Order Contract (JOC) for Arlington ISD to provide minor construction, renovations, repairs and alteration services to the district over the next five years. The contract is unique because it offers alternative pricing data which maximizes accuracy and job application.

Jamail & Smith Construction completes City of Leander Fire Station No.3 for July opening
Jamail & Smith Construction is pleased to announce the completion of the City of Leander Fire Administration, Training and Station No. 3. The 16,000 SF facility was constructed on-time and under budget in collaboration with Moman Architects. Situated next to the Leander Police Station at Sonny Drive and US 183, the $4 million fire station includes administration offices and a learning center for in-house public safety training, complete with a burn tower.

The City of Houston Airport System selects Jamail & Smith Construction as their primary JOC
Jamail & Smith Construction was awarded the Capital Improvements portion of the City of Houston Airport System’s Job Order Contract (JOC). Approximately $5MM will be spent on constructing additional wings, updating airplane hangars, general building maintenance and concrete work at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, William P. Hobby Airport and Ellington Airport. Jamail & Smith Construction is one of two contractors selected by the City of Houston Airport System to hold this contract, which goes into effect in June 2010.

The Esperanza Senior Living Facility in College Station passes Dads Licensure the first time and opens ahead of schedule
Jamail & Smith Construction recently completed a 15,000 SF addition to The Esperanza Assisted Living Facility in College Station, Texas. This project, valued at $2.1 MM, was completed in conjunction with Relative Architecture, who designed the 27 rooms that were added to the facility. Throughout the project, Jamail & Smith Construction’s team was faced with various challenges arising from working within an operating assisted living facility.

Jamail & Smith construction enables reopening of school in North Forest ISD AFTER IKE destruction
Jamail & Smith Construction answered the call for help after destruction from Hurricane Ike in September 2008 caused North Forest ISD to close North Forest High School indefinitely. Once the school district was able to move forward with repairs in late May 2009, Jamail & Smith Construction’s project management team inspected damage to drywall, acoustical ceilings, electrical and mechanical systems, flooring, and millwork.

Jamail & Smith Construction completes first Solar Panel project in Texas with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds
Jamail & Smith Construction is proud to announce the completion of the first solar panel project in Texas with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds. The City of Horseshoe Bay partnered with Jamail & Smith Construction and Texas Solar Power Company to apply for a $311,397 grant from SECO, Texas Comptroller’s State Energy Conservation Office, through the Distributed Renewable Energy Technology Program.
