Zilker Café – Quality Construction Result

Dedicated to making their clients look great, Jamail & Smith worked closely with the design team and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department to deliver a quality construction result that adhered to the unique needs of this historic and beloved café. Although the building was renovated, rest assured that the historic components of the building were preserved to reflect the original look and feel of the café.

Christina Bies, with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, commented on their experience with Jamail & Smith:

“The project was successful due to Jamail & Smith providing a full-time superintendent on site at all times to monitor the project. Jamail & Smith’s team paid close attention to the issues that arose during the course of construction, bringing them to the attention of the Parks and Recreation Department and the design team. In our weekly meetings, their team led short brainstorming sessions to come up with creative, cost effective solutions that paid homage to the original design intent, while taking into consideration the needs of future concession vendors. The Parks and Recreation Department benefitted from Jamail & Smith’s involvement because they provided a high-quality rehabilitated building, and they were mindful of the construction process.”

Zilker Cafe Barton Springs

With over a million visitors per year, Barton Springs Pool continues to be a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Jamail & Smith is honored to have been a part of the rehabilitation of such an historic and cherished facility to the Austin community.
